I can frankly say that I've never heard of the first
and never seen the second in connection with
astrology.

        Paranatellonta are stars or star groups that fall upon angles at
        the same time that a significant constellation or planet is also
        upon the angles. They are viewed as attendants. In ancient
        astrology the term was also applied to the constellations
        that ascended with the zodiacal decans.

...according to which, Teukros of Babylon's discussion of the "paranatellonta tois dechanois" was translated into Pahlavi, into Arabic, and then into Middle Persian in 542, before being used by Abu Ma'shar, and from there incorporated into Pietro d'Abano's "Sphaera Barbarica".
