Actually, not true. Please take some time so read

to find out that the Piri Reis map is actually an interesting, but very mundane 
piece of cartography.

Essentially, what appears to be the Antarctic coastline turns out to be the 
southern part of South America, turned 90 degress, perhaps because the 
parchment ended here.
