Well, Don, don't knock the artist: After all, the VM is comparatively small 
-- a line of typical text occupies a height of around 5 mm, or 1/5th of an 
inch, so the drawings are also pretty small, and painting them accurately is 
certainly a challenge in itself.

But it's stunning that the author should have been smarter than all of us 
combined, plus several Gigahertz of computing power.
