Re: VMs: Rohonczi Codex written from top to bottom
For those with any doubt about which direction the Rohonczi document was
written, I found several places where identical sequences were broken in two
ways across line endings, each time to be followed on the line below. This
is only reasonably expected when the text is to be read from top to bottom.
The most striking example I found thus far spans several lines in the
document. See pages 27a, 27 and 28a on:
http://www.dr-savescu.com/codex/original/original.html
The first sequence begins on page 27a on line 9 from the top from io:oi and
stretches, reading from right to left downwards to line 13 character 5 from
the right (the "crown"). An identical sequence begins at page 27 line 10
starting at io:oi going all the way to page 28a line 1 character 9 (the
"crown"). The one character off by the way. the lassoed triangle does not
look like a character, more like a logo or drawing.
Now I am curious how this was translated reading upwards. The book does not
seem to be too expensive at 400,000 lei (10 euro ?). Does anyone have it?
