Marci seems to have been torn four ways in his professional career between
the Protestant German princes to the
north, the Jesuits, the Bohemian Holy Roman Emperor, and the Pope to
the south. Count George (Jaroslav) Adam de Martinitz was certainly one of
Marci's more colorful acquaintances.
Johannes Marcus Marci' makes reference to "Illustriss[im]is Comitibus
de Martinitz"
