Yes. He was a well-known Jesuit mathematician.
It is not particularly surprising that Moretus
wrote to Kircher, and probably v.v. (I cannot say
right now whether any letters from Kircher to 
Moretus have survived).

Personally, I am even more interested in the 
Jesuit called Santini or Santinus, who has also
written to Kircher, and who had is mentioned
twice by Marci, both times together with Baresch.
