I do not think that an incomplete solution based on 6 lines of text is
convincing at all.
1. How much of the full vms text fits the Welsh solution you suggest? Surely
six lines are not a representative sample. Why didn't you translate the rest
if only you need to substitute characters?. There is a program called
Bitrans, which can do this sort of substitutions in no time.
2. What do the labels say?
3. Even if the text does not make complete sense after translating. How many
words actually fit Welsh according to your table?
This is really easy to do: get the list of unique words (the lexicon) and
apply your suggested substitution. How many (or %) of those fit Welsh?
