Well it had to happen. OK I bit. How does this method account for the
hilly nature of the crust-mantle-core paradigm. The wierdos. Times
when oddities occur such as aii ending a word. And the list goes on
and on and on. If he can reconstruct the whole VMS then he is matching
his solution to the analysed patterns of the VMS. I know all about that. I
have been analysing it for about two years. I can replicate the VMS very
easily and even produce words with the crust-mantle-core structure that
don't even appear in the VMS. I haven't solved it with that method though.
Should I now write a book on how I did it?

BTW Nick I agree 100% on your ol al etc theory. Great minds think alike.

I´m Marcelo Dos Santos, from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
I wrote the article kindly quoted by Dana Scott (tnx, Dana!) and the book
"El Manuscrito Voynich" ("The Voynich Manuscript"), to be published by Feb
23rd, 2005 in Madrid by Editorial Aguilar (Spanish only by now, sorry).
I want to direct the attention of the list members to the excelent work
(once again, Spanish only) "Breve ensayo sobre el Manuscrito Voynich"
("Brief essay on the Voynich Manuscript"), by the Spanish astronomer
Francisco A. Violat Bordonau, a member of this list.
Instead of Cardano Grilles, Violat describes there the use of three
concentric cardboard circles, inspired by the three circles surrounding the
Moon´s face as seen on f67r. This cardoard circles carry the prefixes,
midfixes and suffixes (one kind on each circle). Nailed by the center and
allowed to spin freely, you can generate large amounts of voynichese words,
far easier and faster than Cardano Grilles would allow. Violat does not
assign a name to these circles, so I call them "Violat Circles".

I think it worth to take a look, specially the chapter entitled "Mi
hipótesis" ("My hipothesis"), where he describes the construction and use of
the Violat Circles.
He claims he could reproduce, with this simple method, the whole texto on
f67r, and, adding more circles (up to five) he says he could reconstruct the
whole 40,000 words in the VMs.
Of course, his theory (as Rugg´s one, to which I subscribe myself) holds the
idea that the VMs is nothing but a superbly clever hoax, but this astronomer
seems to provide an easy, cheap and quick way to make up such a hoax.
