Jean, Whatever significance applies to the star-connector should apply 
to the zodiac sign as well as to the nymphs. That might be too 
simplistic. Maybe the connection from the fish is a joke or a mistake by 
someone who did not know what he was drawing. Possibly, the connections 
serve to identify the nymphs or the artist copied from something in 
which connections to symbols were used to identify persons. Someone on 
the list might know whether that was conventional or not -- and in what 
place it might have been. I think that is in quite a different category 
from the cut-tubes theme, which appears pathological to me.
