VMs: For the record

I have received a message from one Rusty Shackleford about my Voynich pages and replied to it as follows. I thought I would put it on the record in case the question crops up again.

Rusty Shackleford:

Good day. I noticed that one of the graphics on your website (http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/philipneal/voynich/78r_even.html) has been used in the book "100 Puzzles, Clues, Maps, Tantalizing Tales, and Stories of Real Treasure" by Micheal Stadther. This book is being used in conjunction with his book "A Treasures Trove" which involves a real treasure hunt. There has been some discussion about the usage of your graphic and its potential importance as a clue in this treasure hunt.

Can you tell me if this graphic of yours was used by permission to the author? Several of us treasure hunters would really like to know.

Me:

Dear Rusty

Your email is the first I have heard of Mr Stadther and his treasure hunt.
If you are taking part in it I wish you good luck, but it is nothing to do
with me. I created that graphic to make a serious suggestion about the
Voynich manuscript. My modification of the original photograph does not
contain any hidden message and is not intended to be a clue in any
treasure hunt or competition.

Yours

Philip Neal
