I fully appreciate the tendency for simple patterns to get repeated,
especially as decorative borders or the like. I realize that the VMs
authot could just as easily have gotten it watching his children
scratching designs in the sand. Believe me, I've gone over my resources to
try and find a definative match between 67r2 and anything in the surviving
mesoamerican works.
The Aries paragraph marker noted elsewhere along with the "Sky Band" type
decoration simply strikes me as something the Voynich author may have seen
somewhere and been influenced by... supplying a vague dating of the VMs as
during or after the Spanish conquest. The "Sky Band" is the closest I've
seen... so far.
