I could really care less how long you've been here, Tom, and said nothing
about it in my posts. I responded to your first post, the tone of which was
confrontational and suggested you haven't been reading long enough to
understand what sort of free expression of ideas is the norm here, and that
you hadn't even read Rob's letter clearly enough to see that he stated he
had already read sample "translation" pages from the ms408 website.

"Adventure of the inner path", "states of enlightenment", "ways of
telepathy", "mystic scripture", "universal scripture of symbols", etc. etc.
etc. Nope, no religious stuff there...

With a title like "The Mysticism of The Voynich Manuscript", and the
interpretations of the "translation" available even on the sample pages, you
are going to find that statement a hard sell here.

It's not pertinent to discussion of the Voynich MS., except in relation to
Ms. Papke and her associates, and I'm not going to get into it with you. I'm
just stating a fact about the affiliation of the people behind the ms408
group with NLP, NHR, DHE, hynotherapy and the like.

People can draw their own conclusions about Richard Bandler and NLP, there
is plenty of information and history available on the web and in books for
anyone who is interested. You undoubtedly wouldn't care much for the links I
would provide.

They do now, but in fact, the ms408 group originally used a modified version
of Gabriel's EVA font (and said so on the website), even going so far as to
add their names to his copyright notice on the modified font, until they
were told to cease and desist. It was not theirs to give away in that form.

Incidentally, have the ms408 group asked for permission to use the Beineke's
images of the Voynich in their commercial publication? Somehow, I doubt it.

I'm a "policeman", John is a "racist", the list members who are underwhelmed
with the ms408 project are "clowns nearby" and "children without toys".

Rob's post was not "based on wrong information", it was his opinion, based
on what he had read downloaded from the ms408 website.

On a basically unmoderated list, the members can pretty much state what they
think within bounds of common decency. If someone doesn't like it, they are
free to say so, or filter posts if they wish. If other list members think my
comments are out of line, I trust that they will say so.

As for my statement, it was based on actually reading the list, and the
comments which have been posted by other members. I would stand by my
statement that few people here are impressed with the results of the ms408
project, at least not in any positive way. Others are free to correct me.

Clay
