A quick answer to the missing 12 pages, for example, is that they might not be missing at all since they may never have existed to begin with. Sure, if we go by the numbers then one could say that they must be missing. But the current folios 58v and 65r are on the same piece of vellum and perhaps there never were any additional folios inserted between. Two reasons why this came to mind are that the number 66 at the top of the rightmost folio which follows the missing set might actually be a forged 55 (it kind of looks like the 6 may actually have been penned originally as a 5 and turned into a 6 with an added stroke). The second thought is that I saw no evidence of there having been any insertions added between folios 58v and 65r. Who knows? I will keep looking for evidence of these missing folios.

Thanks for the kind proposal.

Perhaps an idea would be to get an impression about
the missing pages; it is easier I think when you have
a paper version in front of you; one question for
instance could be: is there any logic in the missings
and if yes what is this logic, as you see it?

Of course a bigger one and more difficult but once
again better to ask oneself in the library is : what
is your overall impression about the logic of VMS as
it is now...
