Hello, Newbies!

Welcome to one of the greatest puzzles of all time!
We're about the fourth generation trying to solve it.
I think we'll succeed this time, because of modern
computers, because this time it's a team effort, and
because our membership circles the physical planet and
possesses many fields of human knowledge. (I myself a
chemical engineer.)

At my web site I have links to, AFAIK, all the images
of the VMs on the Web.

Go to Jorge Stolfi's Voynich page for links to
everyone who's involved:

My pet idea for the Voynich?

1) The underlying language is medieval French.

2) The word breaks in the text are actually syllable
breaks.

3) Voynichese syllables (or words) clearly follow some
pattern, are generated from a paradigm. A given French
syllable is enciphered into Voynichese by one of these
paradigms in reverse.

Our list is easily one of the most tolerant in
cyberspace. Flaming is very rare indeed, and only
happens to someone is absolutely sure of his/her ideas
and spends months trying obnoxiously to cram it down
everyone's throat.
