More unhinged rantings

The recent discussion of "Vickie" reminded me of a poster I encountered
several years ago on alt.folklore.computers. I saved as many of his
articles for my quotes file as I could, but that unfortunately is only
four, which are attached below, in the form that they exist in my quotes
file. I'm sure that somewhere on the net there exists an archive of
alt.folklore.computers, from which one might be able to get a bigger
sample of Michael Lima.

I find the use of the word "heliogram" in the first posting especially
interesting - it may simply be the result of a computer spell-checker
(since "heliogram" *is* a real word), but it also seems like a mistake a
human with a cognitive problem might make. Note that Lima seemed to have
been posting from Quebec, where a lot of people speak French natively, and
he was posting in English, so it's possible that there's a language
barrier involved as well, although I can't really believe that the
strangeness of his postings is solely due to bad translation.

With Virtual Reality, you have a device set up in your head and whatever
you do is in your own world, files are going to be touched thanks to the
dimensions provided in virtual reality. So anyone is going to know or
hear what you are saying, loggers are going through and heliogram be seen
by you when you are using VR, so that you see other people's action's,
even playing games with your neighbour who also has a VR thing and both
of you interact.

A very good reason "Ending of A Century" you have to math new tecnology
for next century. The reason why many advance inventions do not come to
the market is because the old tecnology is too much yet. Why do you thing
that Networks without cable do not finnaly apear? or the solar cars.
Imagine how many gas cars and cable factories are currently with many
interests. The same happens with keyboards and monitors.

Ficcion is closely together with Science. But if you think that keyboards
go in relation to the rapid speed of computer development, you are like
those who said that flying was a ficcion.

Lord Of Nothing:

Keep your hopes and be obtimistic about Macintosh, probably in a hundreed
years it will begin in it's new bussines, the sales of Apple but not
PC's, either it will be Apple pies.

OS2 announce to go to the market with the famous PowerPC from IBM and
OS2 as it's operating system, instead they went t to the market with Win
95 and of course Dos as the operating system.
What happen is that OS2 requires more memory than dos to run and there
goes the important factor *Money*
