Re: Archaic majolica albarelli...?

Hi Rafal,

Interestingly, when I was trying (several years ago) to identify
the house in which Dee and Kelley stayed in Cracow, I found out
that in the neighbouring house there had been a huge furnace
for producing maiolica, built and owned by an Italian (don't
remember the name) - many of whom came to Cracow in the 15th
and 16th c. Perhaps just a coincidence...

If you get a chance to dig the Italian furnace-owner's name up, please post it, it would be very interesting... this all has a ring of curious plausibility to it... :-)

Now there is a nice bar inside what used to be the maiolica furnace,
if you ever go there...

The name and/or address of this bar really ought to go in VMS faqs as well... :-)

Cheers, .....Nick Pelling.....
