VMS -- Botany (f13r) Geranium?

The leaves of this plant look like they belong to a variety of
Pelargonium (Geranium), but would be very difficult to identify. The
great variety in Geraniums is astounding. One variety labeled
'Distinction' looks promising, but then there is the problem of the
flowers which seem unopened in the VMS. Of course, Geranium may be the
wrong plant altogether, but there do appear to be possibilities here. If
any of you are Geranium experts, you may be able to help shed some light
on this search for a needle in a haystack. This type of detective work
can be very exhausting, especially with so few hits on the internet.
Probably requires further investigation.
