Note that it is dated London, 9th June 1580
Ooops - I got this wrong. :-( The Tuba Veneris is dated in the Roman
calendric style, as
Perfectum Scriptumque Londini Anno
MDLXXX. Pridie Nonis Junij
This actually means "the day before the Nones": the Nones fall eight days
before the Ides, which (in June) fall on the 13th, so the date should be
"4th June 1580" (I'm reasonably sure).
My Latin teachers never taught me the niceties of the Roman calendar: if

Hmmm... are all John Dee's other manuscripts dated in this style?
