It is my feeling exactly.
I am pretty sure that there must be quite a few
postings in the mailing list archives that address
this in some detail.
To be more specific: I am totally sure that in
the zodiac section the number of points per
star show the magnitude. This fits with the
assumption that the crowned nymphs represent
Regulus.
Yet even more specifically, this means (to me)
that the VMs does not contain garbage or noise,
but (f)actual information.
