VMs: Newbies contribution and the inevitable silly question

Hi,

  Being new to the VMS I put together a few basic charts, lists, 
letter/word counts, colourized pages etc. to get me started. 
To save others in my position duplicating the effort I have

Forgive me if this has been discussed before, but, is there 
anyone else that thinks the objects like those on the left of 
f99v bear more than a passing resemblance to primitive 
microscopes?
