I'd say it's just about possible, though probably quite unlikely.


In support, I'd point out that the object on the bottom left of f89r looks stylistically like Venetian Murano glass of 1450-1500, and the Murano family were the main people doing glass-related R&D in Europe at that time.

Against it, I'd say that (a) it's just a bit of a long-shot, and (b) it doesn't help us understand anything about the rest of the VMS. What predictions could we base upon the hypothesis that we could actually test?

The advances I've made in my personal understanding the VMS have all arisen from proposing a view, making a tangible prediction based upon that view, and testing it out in practice.
