it appeared to be an Arabic script (Dr. Qusus is an Arab) but the

us. I have called this the Qusus Manuscript after Dr. Nayyif Qusus. I
know of no history to this manuscript, and we may not be able to trace
it's history as many items that change hands in the Middle East have no
previous owners, and cash is usually paid. Please have a look at the
page I've posted on the Internet and let me know if you think it is the
same script or a related cousin, or perhaps the original script before
European monks corrupted it.

Very interesting - I'd say there's probably only a 20% chance it's related to the VMS, but that's definitely about 19% more than most things I've looked at. :-)

I must also admit to quite liking the gallows-like characters in it. :-) BTW: though it's 1/2" thick, how many folios is it?

Cheers, .....Nick Pelling.....

PS: I'm still waiting for a chance to drop by the BL to see Lajos Fekete's book on siyaqat, which I wouldn't be completely surprised to find related to this. We shall see...
