Re: VMs: Fabre D'Olivet, Czech merlons, Voynich by Leonardo? (link)
Hi,
I will attempt to respond to this IF my email works ... :-/
On Fabre d'Olivet he says: "It is futile to follow Fabre's wild project :
his etymologies go the
same way as those of Duiret, Guichard and Kircher and are even less
convincing."
His etymologies are his own. He sees things his way. Like, he insists the
earth was first created in principle. He justifies this with ideas like
light coming before the sun. He seems to know nothing of the destruction.
The second verse of Gen 1 can be translated as the earth "became" ...
everything after that is a reconstruction of earth. The story line
manipulated by the final editors. This was seemingly known by the
translators of the King James version, where we find in the 28th verse of
chap 1: Be fruitlful, multiply and REplenish the earth.
As far as what I have taken from his work, his base ideas concerning the
meanings behind the individual letters ... is correct.
regards
Jim
