RE: VMs: could it not be a hoax (I would like it not to be it)

... not to mention that Brambaugh saw a pepper and made a connection
to a code he devised to decode the modern spelling of pepper from 757752,
along with supposedly a few other words that seemed to match nearby
context.

As intriguing as the results seem to line up with real astro-events,
I think there were so many real astro-events to line up with. I too, have
tried to make connections between the diagrams and star positions (although
I
am far from calling myself even an amateur astronomer). I particularly like
the 4 seasons which seem logical to be included in a manuscript - supposing
that the country of origin had 4 seasons.

To say a few more words about this: I know that it
is sometimes frustrating when one writes about
something that seems very promising, not to find
any responses from the list. This
does not mean that people ignored it or disagree.
Often people read it, need to think about it,
and I am sure that some people will have paid
close attention to this topic. However, often
it is not possible to decide one way or another
whether one is convinced or not, and then not
sending a responding E-mail is probably the Right
Thing to Do.

My thoughts at the time were:
- problem: there are far more than 10 VMs characters,
so what is the meaning of words that are composed
  of combinations?
+ Is every word which is a combination of the
     number characters definitely a number?
- problem: there are several sequences of VMs
characters - why is one particular one the key
that lists the numbers? IIRC, the list was extracted
  of several figures (correct?)
- It is very odd that the Eva-l represents 5, not 4
(due to its shape). That by itself does not mean
anything, since it is a code, after all. But then,
changing 5 to 4, many dates become much more
interesting (14xx instead of 15xx). For someone
who has not repeated everything you've done, it
seems reasonable that it will be possible to
pick selected numbers from selected pages and
find astronomical events that happened on those
dates, also if Eva-l were 4, not 5.

These are the main thoughts that came up -
nothing solid one way or another. I did not have
time to really sit down and look very closely at
everything, and I did not want to send an E-mail
that has an overall negative tone, without having
looked more closely.

All the best,
      Rene
