VMs: RE: Regal Eagle

Dana,
I had noticed this and also given it some thought, but remembering
my travels through Germany, where I saw hundreds of such images in
castles and museums throughout the country, my first thought was
Germany.  I've also seen similar eagles in Austria, Poland,
Czechoslovakia and Bulgaria.

Having run into these from Goslar to Prague, I didn't think it a
good lead to follow.  Having said that however, I wonder how many
of these eagles were in use in the 15th/16th century, and whether
several of these locations can't be ruled out, both by the time
period in question and its similarity to the VMS eagle.  You might
be onto something.....
