Indeed, and there are many ways to create meanings from bits of the VMS that
are convincing to gullible minds. For instance, the 'spare' letters on
f116v, 'ton ola te taer cerc' are anagrammatical of 'a traccerete lo not',
which, if you give it a bit of creative license, might be construed to mean
'you will not trace'. Meaningful? Or mindless coincidence? I'd go with the
coincidence.
