Thanks for the heads up.  I'll check out Saxl's work.  We have a copy of
it here at Syracuse Univ (amongst other great works I have been

Hello Larry,

I have the pictures (woodcuts) from a work
called Flores Albumasaris (or something very 
similar). The description of Leo is accurate.
If you're interested, I'll try to post them.
If you have a chance to browse a copy of Saxl's
'Verzeichniss', I'd advise you to do it. There
are other images of zodiac constellations which
appear somewhat similar to the VMs drawings.
Note that in the VMs, Leo looks more like
a lioness.
