Re: VMs: RE: Model matches/mismatches...

Hi John,

While I generally agree, both 'p' and 'f' do (in addition to "shadowing" 't' and 'k') also often seem to have a systematic (paired) usage. I suspect that these are probably an alternate mode of presentation for "stretched gallows" (like on the first line of f42r), wrapped around Neal keys. And what they might be is another matter entirely...

2. First word on a page should drop the first letter, and possibly even
the first character on every line (who knows).

I wouldn't be surprised if the first character on the line (for example) acted as a special substitution character for that line (ie, on this line, replace all 't' characters with this character).

But yes, the first character on each line does frequently appear "unsafe".

3. Multi-syllabic 'words' (more than the normal flow) require bouncing
back to green/blue/or purple in my chart.

I suppose I'm looking for a deterministic word model, whereas this kind of word model is far more open-ended. The real answer is probably somewhere in the middle (as always). :-)

So, I can kind of build a set of rules for how to make a VMS word. So what
does that mean? All sorts of patterns
seem to exist in the VMS - just none that seem to make any sense.

I'm sure they do make sense - just not to us at the moment. :-)

Cheers, .....Nick Pelling.....
