Actually, that clock was made by *Jacopo* de Dondi (Giovanni's father). I 
was actually referring to Giovanni de Dondi's original astronomical clock, 
which (I believe) was fairly unadorned.

I'm not sure I'm ~100%~ comfortable with the website's explanation for the 
lack of Libra: after all, I'd guess that the sign had been known for (say) 
2000 years by the time it was built. :-o
