	You're right - that wasn't fair, I should never have suggested he look
critically at your work with even the slightest hint that his efforts might
be seen in the same light. You have put a lot of work into finding your
solution despite the outcome. Jeff might have some very good ideas to follow
up on; my only point was to state that many people are supportive where
support is sought - but are quite critical when a claim that a definitive
answer is found. The 'final' solution must be able to stand up to scrutiny,
and so these claimants may feel bombarded with what they might deem as
unjust criticism when they raise the flag of triumph and declare victory
over the VMS.

	I've perhaps dumbly stated that we must be more careful of what we hint at
as 'fact' over our 'assumptions' and beliefs... but, I'll go out on a limb
here... and say it is a fact that nobody has provided proof of THE solution
to the VMS yet. I would really like to see somebody pull it off - and it
certainly does not have to be me. If Jeff or even John Stojko actually finds
his way to a verifiable solution, I'll be quite pleased. Obviously, at that
point the discoverer(s) would have put in a lot of hard work and would have
taken a lot of abusive attacks on their solution to deem it verified.
Someday. Perhaps.
