VMs: well, not Komi ... could it be Mari?
hi everybody in the labyrinth!
OK, it's probably not in Komi language...
The structure of this language is too much "pure Finno-Ugric" for VMS.
First, when I looked at the old alphabet of Komi,
I thought, there "d" could be the "picnic table" (see the page with
diagram "4 x 17") and there was some other similarities too. Well, too
optimistic of course.
But let's continue the serch for Finno-Ugric components in VMS:
As we probably remember, 2 months in "astrology" section (calendarium)
ar splitted in 2 - so we get 14 parts of a year.
It could be interesting to mention, the traditional Mari
calendar has 14 months. I try to serch out more data about it
and post it here (if it turns out to be interesting). But I can't
read Mari, so it could take some time.

Just a map:

(I live in Estonia, pinkish fleck at left
Komi and Mari are at right, top and bottom green regions.
2 territories in red between them - one more Komi (next to "big" Komi)
and Udmurt, a bit lower.
Geographically, this is the eastern flank of Europe.)

Mari & Udmurt people are known as the last people in Europe, who
still keep there old, animistic religion ... more or less. I mentioned
Udmurt here, because I personally think, the structure of this language
could be a better match for VMS (maybe because I understand it even less,
than Mari)
PPPS
More about Udmurt - I think, there language contains more Turco-Tataric stuff,
than any other living Finno-Ugric tongue. The next one, Tshuvash, is a
Turco-Tataric one with Finno-Ugric influences. Could the VMS be written in this?
I can't say...
Or a document in lost language of Merya?
After these folks had changed in everyday life to plain Russian,
they kept there original Finno-Ugric/Turco-Tataric dialect
as a secret language for tradesmen (at last some authors think so).
