Hello Jan,

the first word reads 'Jacobj' and the letter in 
between is like a small delta with a short stroke 
crossing the ascender, meaning 'de'. This is
from a picture publiushed by Voynich in 1921.

It is much more visible on the scans than I
would have expected.
