When I saw the VMs, it struck me (top to bottom)
as Greek: tau - omicron - rotated tau.
Then if you turn the page clockwise 90 deg
again it says tau - omicron - rotated tau.

Doesn't mean very much. I was actually hoping
that the 'rotated tau' was one of the lost Greek
characters, which was still used in the representation
of numbers, and that it said '365'. 

I am largely unconvinced by my own inter-
pretation and would suggest that a real
paleographer says what these symbols are and
where they might come/date from.
