VMs: Bifolio numbering

There doesn't appear to be any "official" way of designating a bifolio.  Is
there some accepted method?

For the folios, a designation "f1r.7.3" indicates folio, line and word, but
what if you're trying to relate something to a bifolio layout?  There are
two sides, four pages, so "q1" would be the quire, "b1" the bifolio in the
quire, and then you'd need to designate which side of the bifolio, and the
left or right of the side in question.  Any ideas?
