Hm. Indeed, it sounds awkwardly plausible.

Did anybody run a comparable test on plaintext language, to see if 
the "truncated sequences" pattern would show up there as well?

Also, the truncated sequences seem to appear with widely differing frequencies. 
Shouldn't they be more equally distributed -- or at least differing by a factor 
of 1000?
