p.s. Not proposing any of these cyphers or
substitutions were used - I realize there were many
diplomatic (and non-diplomatic) codes in use in the
Middle Ages and examples of VMS-like characters in
other manuscripts has been noted before. Just that any
instances I figure are worth investigating and
learning from.
