Yes.  That was what I thought was interesting.  And what I think Rene
thought was interesting, too.  I'm willing to accept the estimate of the
Strahov curator, of course, in the spirit of informed helpfulness in which
it was offered, but I'd like to see this done more thoroughly.

I should perhaps say that I don't have any problems with any part of the
Voynich hypothesis on the origins of the manuscript being either right or
wrong.  It's nice to have some kind of working hypothesis.  His account
certainly fits together a number of historical reports that may well go
together.  Or might not.  Unfortunately for clinching the case, none of
the supposed references to the VMs extract it or describe it well enough
to make it certain they refer to it!
