Hi Jean,

I made the rough translation of Lavinius's "Tractatus de Caelo Terrestri" myself. In my haste, I missed a few basic corrections noted below.

"The natural removes the substantial excrement, well with the terrestrial limo (slime) that is converted in later or will for adustion (scorching)."

"The art is above the laws of nature and finally remains transformed in a king who infinitely rebase (outgrows; is reborn?) to other truths."

In most cases the original punctuation has not been altered. For a proper translation into English, my efforts clearly need further work.

There is very little on the internet that I have been able to find on Václav Lavín.

Great! Did you translate it yourself or found it on the web ( I was unable to ) or...? This is anyway the first English version I happen to see.

As Jan told, there is enough hint to the identification of Lavin Vaclav with Lavinius Venceslas for now. As you possibly saw, the hunt for Pontanus is more intricate, and Baresch looks really to be - at the moment - an "invisible".

Would you happen to learn more about V.L., I'll surely be interested.
