I don't know about British law, but I know that in Frogland
it is quite easy to set up a non-profit society ("society"
is not the right word, I was thinking in French, so I cannot
find the proper English term). Its aim does not matter, as
long as it is non-profit. I have seen examples of such
societies set up to promote belote-playing or fly-fishing.
They enjoy tax advantages and can even apply for public
funding. I'll probably be off for Frogland in March-April-May
and I shall inquire then.
