Re: VMs: Pignatelli

Hi Dana,

it is just too bad there was no Pigantelli in Prague at that time. Emperor Joseph II confiscated files of Prague Society and  let them sent to Vienna. According to our source in Rome, there are no Prague documents there and there are none in Prague either. Very few documents were returned later back to Bohemia, but they are now part of county archives as "jesuitica" and the search is close to impossible. Even so, the existing ones are probably younger than those we are looking for anyway.

Perhaps a closer examination of the Jesuit cause may shed some light on the trail of the VMs following its departure from Prague.  One of the principles involved may very well have been Giuseppe (Joseph) Pignatelli who did much to ensure the future success of the Society of Jesus.
