Interesting. Sounds like a good time to join
hastro-l again. This is quite close to the single
most debated question in the history of astronomy,
where Brad Schaefer has been also involved in the
past. This question is:
 Did Ptolemy lie when he said he made his star
 catalogue from his own observations?
