Hello Jean-Yves,

Olomouc was one of the prime Jesuit schools in
what is now the Czech republic, and we should not
be surprised to find many men of Jesuit education 
to have studied there. Studying with Marci was
also the later Archbishop Harrach, who helped Marci
out of problems with the Jesuits in the 1630's.

Note that our friend Baresch signed his letter to
Kircher as 'Baresch', but is referred to as
'Barschius' in Marci's book and in the Clementinum
records.

Would be nice to know more about this M.Barcius,
but if it really is a pseudonym of one of the 
Sternberg family, I would not expect him to 
be registered in the Clementinum under a
pseudonym rather than his real name, so it is
hard to imagine it is our friend Barschius.
