Re: VMs: Welsh/Cornish

So <q> cannot be Welsh "y"
And <q> cannot be Welsh "i" either.
"o-", used as a prefix, can mean "of, from, with". Not counting words that
actually begin with "o"..... (and there are many.)

Just a thought from one guy with absolutely no knowledge of Welsh:
Some of the controversy seems to revolve about the transcription of sounds
like "y" into latin letters. But how long since the Latin alphabet has set
standards in Wales?
I mean, would it be possible that someone introduced a different alphabet,
and for example didn't care about the disctinction between "y" and "i"?
(And before you jump at me: I'm not saying the VM is Welsh! I'm asking if it
could be...)
Cheers,
Elmar
