Thank you very much for posting such detailed notes on your word model:
once I've state-ified it carefully, I'll post the implementation here for
checking.
For now, all I'll immediately note is that I think you were probably
referring to f1r (not f1v) as the transcriber's nightmare - and that as
there seems likely that f1r (and other quire "wrapper" pages) have
experienced significant wear from handling, then it would also be more
likely to have been subject to (possibly faulty) corrections, AKA
"restoration". So unless you're *really sure* of how the writing works, it
probably wouldn't be a good idea to read a lot into rare statistics based
largely on the outermost pages of quires. I'm not sure where this leaves
your ih stuff... & understanding that is a job for another day. :-o
