Re: "OT/Local" VMs: What's Missing or Different? What Conventions are There?
Steve, I gather you maintain that you have a solution or key to the VMS?
I have to admit that in spite of repeated attempts to make sense of your
comments when they have appeared, I remain baffled. I've even looked at
your web site when I stumbled on it once. It seems to be down tonight.
I remember thinking at the time, after pondering the instructions there,
"Nope, still puzzled."
The general impression I receive is that the VMS script functions as a set
of pointers and/or indexes to lead one through a key made of folded paper,
picking up characters as one goes. However, I haven't been able to get
past that general idea to anything concrete. I tend to visualize a
"fortune teller" with alphabetic tables on it.
I'm a little puzzled that you can't produce a coherent description of the
process, or, perhaps, just a scanned copy of it (or them) with fold marks
indicated. I'm going to take a wild guess from your writing that we tend
to view the communication process differently, and that may be my problem.
So, let's try the black box approach. Instead of looking at your process,
let's look at the result. When you apply your solution to a section of
text (you pick one), what do you get?

We may not be on the same wavelength here. I meant missing in the sense
of a practice or custom not followed that one might expect would have been
followed. The expressing "nothing is missing" suggests you interpreted me
to mean missing in the sense of taken away. I just meant conventions
omitted, not material.

One of 12? Who are the others?

ES? Steve Ekwall (Ekwall, Steve) folded?
