VMs: Could "the castle" exist out there, away from Europe?

Could "the castle" exist out there, away from Europe?
If so, it's probably an early Portuguese one, because
it has such a medieval-European look & feel...
If searching for Portuguese colonial fortifications, the problem is, most of
these seem to be in ruins. The medieval silhouette could be changed over times,
too ... (if remained unchanged, the castle could be destroyed too easily by rivals)

scroll down, there comes
"The Portuguese Fort on St. Paul's hill"
probably one of the oldest, built 1511, almost nothing left
(same situation in Malacca)

looks bad, too (the fort I mean ... btw, did the forest destroy it?)

this one is less destroyed:

Diu ... there was also a big lighthouse ...
there it probably comes, as in AD1572:

more of the same:

So, could a lighthouse be the tower of "the castle" ? Probably a better option,
than a church? Well, maybe Diu is not "the castle". But could a typical view of
a very early Portuguese colonial fort be much the same elsewhere?
