Orthographic Side Issue (Re: VMs: WMV's Parents)

Yes, this is just transcriptional adaptation across different
orthographies.

Polish:   W  oj n i  cz
German:   W  oi n i  tsch
French:   V  oi n i  tch
English:  V  oy n i  ch    (or Voinich)

But I've always thought it cute that the glyph looking like c + z (a
c-shape, plus a mid-level stroke, plus a c-shape), is rendered in the
EVA as ch.  I doubt anyone was thiking specifically of Voynich's Polish
connection, but surely Polish orthography was being considered in some
way.

I wonder of the EVA crew started with the sz/cz approach, noticed the
coincidental Polish character of it and switched to orthograpically
equivalent sh/ch for some reason.

Proto-EVA:  faczys ykal ar ataiin Szol Szory cTzres ykos Szoldy
EVA:        fachys ykal ar ataiin Shol Shory cThres ykos Sholdy

Incidentally, does anyone know how it is that Polish came to use z more or
less in the light of h elsewhere for marking alveo-palatals?   I've been
suspecting it's a reinterpreted uncial h or s or something like that.
