I tried this a long time ago using a readymade program. You have better
resultas than I had!

Could you try to run it on the text op Lovecraft's "At the mountains of
madness" ? That was my test text then. I also got a few small groups and
several very large groups. The small groups contained colours (white, red
etc.) and numbers (one, five). The big groups looked completely random.

You can find the lovecraft text quite easily on Google. I can't give you a
link, I'm at a conference terminal :-)
