If true, I'm sure we can confidently look forward to having to retranscribe it all over again in "EVA#", the .NET version of EVA.

The word "Voynich" will also have to be replaced with "MS-Voynich", and it will be mandatory for all analysis to be done using an MFC-architected WinXP application, which will rapidly move to a subscription-only model (once the true cost of maintaining it becomes apparent to MS).

On the basis that Voynich has (now) become a registered trademark, all the mailing list archives will then retrospectively become Microsoft property (I'm sure their lawyers will find a way of achieving this), and will be issued on a CD as "Encarta/Voynich 2002", updated every year. Holding mailing list archives in your email program will become a copyright offence - you'll have to memorise them using a form of Augustinian mnemonic visualisation technique.

The good news is that the VMS will then get broken (by renegade Linux hackers, running their tools on reverse-engineered XBox 2's): but the bad news is that Microsoft's marketeers will make sure that nobody believes them, to maintain healthy sales of the MS-Voynich tool-chain.

Just so you know. :-)
