RE: VMs: Re: Currier A and B

Hi GC,

Picking a page at random, say 34v -
Here's how the lines break down - this is accurate but slightly generalized,
since the difference between a1 and b2 on these pages is keyed not directly
to lines themselves, but to another factor, heh heh.

Here's an interesting observation on f34v, I don't know if you picked up on this or not.

If you look at the join between para 1 lines 4-5, this goes (with /// = "page break"):-

otam-///-lshaiir

Similarly, on the same page, look at the join between para 1 lines 8-9 (note that I think that this page actually has two paragraphs), which goes:_

okam-///-lsheody

What's so interesting about these to line-ends? In both cases, it would appear that the extremely common pair "al" is being split across the line-end, with an EVA <m> being inserted *in the middle of the pair*. By that measure, I'd suggest that the likely *real* characters being transcribed here are:-

        ot-al-sh aiir
        ok-al-sheo dy

This would seem to be in full support of the old idea that -m (where it appears at line-ends) often acts like a hyphen. Doesn't this seem rather too well-structured for a hoax? :-o

Cheers, .....Nick Pelling.....
